Creating a sample properties file
[ Main_Page | Exercises on using qbase+ ]
We have done an experiment in which gene expression levels were measured in blood from 6 mice before and after treatment with a given compound.
Generate a sample properties file for this experiment so that you can properly analyze the data. |
---|
Sample properties files can be tab delimited text (.txt), comma or semicolon separated value (.csv), Microsoft Excel (.xls) or Microsoft Excel 2007 (.xlsx) files. Sample properties files contain a data table with a header row: Name and type must be provided, the other columns can be left out. Quantity refers to the quantities of standard samples, not to Cq values. The headers of the columns that you use must match these of the example file that you see above exactly and in the same order. So, you have to create a table with:
Save as a comma separated value (csv) or tab-delimited text file. |
Load the sample properties file into a new experiment called MouseAnnotation. |
---|
Create a new Experiment by right clicking Experiments in the Project Explorer
In the Experiment properties window fill in the name of the Project (red) and click the Save button (green) in the top menu
Click the Close wizard button to leave the Analysis wizard. Load the sample properties:
This opens the Importing samples window:
In the next window: indicate that your file contains Custom properties and click Finish
Check if the custom properties were properly imported:
