Biological networks are schematic representations of all kinds of relationships between gene products, chemicals and/or biological processes. Biological networks are the core of the study of systems biology.

To study and analyse biological networks, two things are required: a tool to visually represent networks and the biological data to visualize. Depending on the software you use, some only provide the graphical 'workbench', while others as well as the graphical workbench as the data included.
