This page lists search engines that combines different databases (sequence, taxonomy, ontology, diseases,...) in one single search engine. Biological data comes in many different shapes and colours. Often specific biological data is needed about a certain biological process, information that is mostly linked over different databases (e.g. all transmembrane proteins in the liver of mouse related to drug metabolism).

Sequence

  • MRS - MRS is an on-line portal to sequence retrieval. Very flexible query input and searches a broad range of databases.
  • SRS - Sequence Retrieval System, used by many companies and academics (Commercial BioWisdom)
  • ACNUC - Sequence retrieval for the HOVERGEN, HOGENOM, HOMPOLENS, PhEVER, HAPMAP databases.

Various

  • BioGPS - integrate results from multiple data sources for your gene of interest
