Exercise 15c: Changing plots in Prism

In Exercise 14: Box plots in Prism we created a box plot of babies' weight in function of the smoking behaviour of the mother.
Additionally we created an individual box plot for smoke=0 and for smoke=1. We will now combine these two individual boxplots into one plot. We will place the box plots in the following order (from left to right):
- smoking behaviour = 0: never (never smoked)
- smoking behaviour = 1: yes (still smokes)
Put the two boxplots in one single plot. |
---|
We need to import the second data set into the graph containing the box plot for the mothers that never smoked:
|
Return to plot containing the 5 box plots.
Change the title of the plot to "Effect of smoking on birth weight". |
---|
Click the title and type a new one. |
Change the title of the Y-axis to "birth weight" and the title of the X-axis to "smoking behaviour mother". |
---|
Click the title and type a new one. |
Align the outliers, this looks nicer. |
---|
|
This generates the following plot:
Use the same symbol (circle) on each box plot. |
---|
|
Color the boxes red with black borders. |

This generates the following plot:
